I am reading a wonderful book titled (don’t laugh), The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Psychic Intuition”. Yup, I am not kidding, that is the latest book I am reading – intuition for dummies. And I LOVE it. I would highly recommend this book to anyone.
The reason I love this book is because it “speaks English” regarding how to develop our intuition. I have never enjoyed an author that uses gushy, squishy, rainbows and sunshine language. I like straight forward explanations, simple steps and easy methods. Otherwise, I lose interest.
In chapter 7 there is a great section on taking care of our psychic health. The author suggests a cleansing bath using the following ingredients:
3 parts Epsom salts
2 parts baking soda
1 part table, kosher, or sea salt
A few drops of your favorite essential oil.
A couple of other things that were also suggested were take your dog for a walk, take yourself for a walk, play with your dog or cat and write, draw or dance in response to your feelings.
I don’t think it really matters what we do as much as it matters whether or not it relaxes us. Relaxation is so good for us physically and it does wonders for our intuitive health also.
One of the questions I am asked the most is, “how do I know if it is my intuition speaking or me making up a bunch of stuff.” A very simple way to tell is by how we feel. If we are in worry, doubt, frustration, anxiety, etc. we are more than likely making stuff up.
However, if we are relaxed, calm, centered and feel connected to the present moment then we can feel confident in trusting the information coming through is our intuition speaking.
Every morning I have a practice that assists me in connecting in to the divine mind and a practice in the evening that allows me to release any unwanted energy that I may have picked up throughout the day. This ensures that my auric and energetic fields stay clean and free flowing.
This is important for anyone who is developing their intuition. Essentially, developing our intuition is really about developing our relationship with energy. So we must be diligent to practice simple methods that will help keep our energy clean and vibrating at a high level.
We do this through relaxation, having fun, being creative, sharing in inspiring conversation and cultivating a healthy emotional body. The more we are consistent with these practices, the more they will become a part of our lifestyle.
The more they are a part of our lifestyle, the easier we can move through our “same old patterns”, belief systems that no longer support our path and all the ways we are resist love, even though we don’t mean to.
If we think about it, what decision did we ever make that was sound and beneficial when we were in a negative or reactive state of being? I can’t think of one. Those decisions usually ended up messy and apologetic.
It is always to our advantage to slow down, breathe and open our mind and heart. And if we can’t get there immediately, then we work with ourselves until we do. Then, while we are relaxed, we can ask for guidance and feel confident about what we receive is the right answer.
